Bisnouli Sarvodaya Gramodyog Sewa Sansthan

Bisnouli Sarvodaya Gramodyog Sewa Sansthan (BSGSS) was originally a UP-based voluntary organization working actively in the realm of women empowerment with focus on healthcare, education, vocational/skill training, social mobilization, micro-finance, handicrafts and awareness generation on various socio-economic issues.

This Society was formed in Bisnouli village of Dadri Tehsil, Uttar Pradesh by a group of community leaders and social workers with the objective of bringing about integrated development of Bisnouli and adjoining villages through the promotion of village and cottage industries. Social activists of the area played an important role in the formation of this organization. Among other things, the broader objective of the Society was to bring about positive socio-economic changes in the lives of the poor and the underprivileged sections of the society through appropriate community intervention programmes, in particular empowering women in the society.

Way back in 2000-2001 , a new Governing Body took charge of the organization. Two former civil servants, Sh. Vijay Kumar Jha (Ex-IPS) and Smt. Nandita Bakshi (Ex-IRS) opened the NGO’s administrative office in South Delhi with a view to expanding its outreach in Delhi and beyond, covering Varanasi, Sangrur, Gurdaspur and Pathankot districts. In this, they were supported by a band of qualified professionals, local partners and a large number of volunteers.

With multi-faceted developmental interventions, BSGSS strives to bring about positive changes in the quality of life of the underprivileged through viable socio-economic programmes touching various aspects of peoples’ lives, whether it is health, education, gender equality, employment or income generation. In order to achieve our goals, we enter into partnerships with the community, like-minded organizations, government institutions and sections of the private sector.

BSGSS has undertaken various programmes in the past also for the betterment of the lot of women, artisans and youth through appropriate capacity building programmes. We are committed to making our programmes socially, financially and environmentally sustainable. Our Self-help Groups of disadvantaged rural women is a testimony to this positive change. With regular interventions, we constantly strive to bring about positive changes in the lives of people with whom we are associated.

Vision & Mission :
